Realibly operating remotes sites year round 24/7 in Canada is no easy challange, long wintery nights and months of inaccessibility in the winter mean that everything has to be throughly tested before deployment and be designed to withstand the extreme environmental conditions.

After testing several different remote monitoring products we decided that their was no match to the reliability, ease of use and low power consumption of the FlexSCADA products.

We have now deployed over 25 Flexs Q4 and Q5 units throughout our network with no complaints whatsoever, primarly they are used to monitor battery charge, track solar and wind production and log battery cycle efficencies along with a handful of sites which also contain remote start generators.

Thanks to the easy to use onboard logic we were able to automate almost all routine functions including battery load tests, generator starting and load shedding which has greatly reduced the neccessity of operator intervention.

Lyttonnet provides high speed internet to the interior of western Canada through its network of optical and microwave links.

Due to the rugged nature of the rural area, Lyttonnet utilizes 20+ remote off-grid solar and wind-powered wireless repeaters as part of its core network.

After testing several different remote monitoring products, starting in 2015 Lyttonnet made the choice to outfit all of it’s remote sites with FlexSCADA hardware.
