All of our devices support a wide array of industry standard open network protocols compatible with a wide array of off the shelf software solutions, these protocols include SNMP, MQTT, HTTP JSON, Modbus and more!
Our devices also support a open and well documented custom transmission protocol that provides several unique features to customers
- Measurement Caching / Backlogging, When communication goes down at a remote site, logging continues normally and all of the measurements are pushed up once comms are restored so you never have blank spots in your graphs
- Highly Encrypted, Transmission is secured by AES256 with pre-shared keys and hashed with SHA256 to insure data integrity
- Low Data Usage, Measurements are sent in the most efficient way possible providing up to 400x reduction in data usage compared to MQTT, SNMP and Modbus. Typically 2-3MB / Month is all you need!
- No Port Forwarding, Since requests are always made outgoing from the device you don’t have to worry about port forwarding like you would if the device was polled over SNMP or another polling protocol
Based on this protocol FlexSCADA makes available a free ready to go software package that can be deployed on most Linux servers. (Docker Image)
The package includes everything you need to start graphing, logging, configuring alarms and managing devices.
Additionally, for customers which don’t have a server to install our software package on, we offer a hosted solution at a minimal rate.
There is no difference between the software in our hosted solution or the freely available docker package we provide to customers, our hosted option is for those who don’t want to be bothered with maintaining an additional service.
